In fact, I was able to learn something new with this project! It was lovely to sit and stitch to add the hand quilted details. The book begins with a great section featuring techniques and tips, and providing helpful explanations for things like paper piecing, stitches, binding and more. I really enjoyed getting outside of my comfort zone and trying something different. Again, the hand quilting was a fun addition. The patterns feature a nice balance of traditional blocks and modern designs.
This book is jam packed with quilts, table settings, ornaments, and gifts galore. I loved the Ticker Tape design, with its strips of lovely fabric arranged up and down all over the quilt in a beautiful pattern. So what do y'all think? You can check it out HERE. I wrote a book! Too cute to resist!
There are so many wonderful ideas in Doll Quilts, like simple geometric pastels, appliqued apples and a hand-stitched Little Red Riding Hood inside of a Dresden Plate pattern. Then I just whip stitched them together using fine 80 weight thread. I completely agree, including the fact that Doll Quilts offer an opportunity to try out new techniques without the big commitment of a full size quilt. Have you ever tried a single-fold binding?

As the book title would suggest, the pages are filled with beautiful patchwork projects, from quilts, pillows, and pin cushions to tote bags, pouches and needle books.

The book is full of really amazing projects and designers I'm sure you will recognize most if not all of them - contrary to what you might think not all of the projects are Christmas-related I completely agree, including the fact that Doll Quilts offer an opportunity to try out new techniques without the big commitment of a full size quilt.
